A view from the sky above my little hometown, Nyon.
The French Alpes across The Lake Leman.
A sense of adventure eventually led me to New York, a world away from my peaceful hometown. There, I earned a degree in fashion at Parsons School of Design and later transitioned into finance, working in hedge fund marketing. A few years later, I married, and several years after that, when our daughter was born, I decided to leave my career to focus on my family. For the first time in years, I rediscovered a profound sense of peace and happiness. I had found the world I truly loved, children.
The years have flown by, and my little girl is now nearly ready to head off to college. We’ve been through so many phases together, but I’ve always cherished those early years the most. One of our favorite pastimes was reading books together. Through their enchanting illustrations and delightful tales, I rediscovered their profound magic from an adult's perspective.
I was born in a small town by Lac Léman, near Geneva, Switzerland, where my childhood was filled with the simple joys of country life. Though I had no siblings, my best friend, Lili, lived right next door, and together we spent our days climbing trees, building snowmen, or rolling in piles of autumn leaves, depending on the season. Growing up so close to nature is one of my happiest memories.
Years later, I decided to take the leap. I enrolled in online children’s book writing classes, refreshed my drawing skills, and learned how to create digital illustrations. Now, almost two years later, my first book, Another Somewhere, is finally out in the world.
In our home, when not reading books, Daria dressed up, some days as a chef, some days as a princess…
This is when I began to think about writing books for children, with the hope of bringing special moments and happiness to more children, while also hoping to introduce them to their emotions and different ways to understand and navigate them.
